The prenatal test was inconclusive. The baby growing inside Jill’s womb might be just fine, or she might have lifelong disabilities. Doctors urged Jill to undergo further testing, but Jill and her husband refused. They knew that they would welcome this baby into their lives no matter what the tests showed. In the meantime, they lived with the possibility that they might be raising a child with very special needs. “Lord,” Jill prayed, “I am placing this situation in your hands.
